Alpaca/Wool Handwoven Blankets
Luxurious Alpaca/Wool Handwoven Blankets - Sourced and produced in the Pacific Northwest! The process starts at Hill Top Alpaca Farm, northwest of Spokane, Washington, where their flock has grown pounds of downy soft white, grey, brown, tan, and beige alpaca fiber every year. The sheep grew their Columbia wool fleeces at Marie Gettmann's farm north of Ritzville, Washington. The fiber from these animals traveled to Fibers First Inc. (fibersfirst.weebly.com) a fiber processing mill in Post Falls, Idaho which uses century-old equipment to transform this raw fiber into beautiful mill-spun yarn. Finally, our talented handweaver of Fibers First Farms near Cheney, Washington designs and weaves the amazing 60 inch by 54 inch with a 3 inch fringe on each end of throws. This process can take up to a year from the time it arrives at the mill as raw fiber-- two years, if you take into account the year it takes to grow the fiber! Hand wash, cool water and lay flat to dry.
